    Responsibilities

    The Clinical Manager is responsible for managing our team of Certified Medical Assistants.  The MA’s generally serve an individual physician, but the MAs function as a team, creating a network of MAs, LPNs, and RNs, that meet our patient needs.  Specifically, this includes:

    • Directing, organizing, and supervising the work of their nursing staff on a daily basis
    • Coordinating nursing efforts to ensure that effective patient care is being provided and that high quality standards are met
    • Developing educational programs and contributing to staff professional development 
    • Interviewing and hiring nurses and medical staff
    • Preparing all of the weekly schedules for the clinical staff
    • Working closely with our clinic’s clerical/Practice Coordinator/X-ray/MRI/DME to ensure an excellent experience for the patients and for the providers
    • Building a team of collaborative clinical professionals and a positive, effective work environment

    Qualifications

    The successful candidate for Clinical Manager is someone who has a high passion for patient care, who understands the nuances of operating an orthopaedic practice, and who has experience operating in a high volume clinic.  Specifically, they must possess:

    • Certification from an accredited program for Registered and/or Certified Medical Assistants or an accredited school of nursing
    • A current and unencumbered MA Certification through a sanctioned third-party, such as The American Registry of Medical Assistants, National Health Career Association, American Association of Medical Assistants, National Center for Competency Testing, or American Medical Technologist or a state Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
    • At least one year of supervisory experience, including talent acquisition and performance management
    • Demonstrated success in the ability to manage a team of clinical professionals, meeting the needs of medical providers and achieving patient care goals 
    • Orthopaedic experience is preferred, with knowledge of NextGen a plus
    • An exceptional communicator, able to build strong internal and external partnerships with TOA stakeholder in the clinic, and other TOA departments
    • Ability to manage a team of diverse clinical professionals, building a cohesive and goal oriented organization
    • Demonstrated success in a large clinic, supporting multiple physicians, mid-level providers, and accessing other ancillary services such as MRI, XRay, DME/Casting, and physical therapy.
