  • Overview

    The Network Security Engineer implements, manages, and monitors enterprise wide vulnerability management solutions for TOA. The NSE strives to enforce security best practices, policies, standards and guidance to ensure the safeguarding of TOA’s proprietary data, physical infrastructure and resources from internal and external threats. The NSE is required to maintain an extensive understanding of services provided by TOA, and to develop relationships throughout the organization to assist in accomplishing security related goals for the company.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with network security components such as firewalls, VPN, IDS, IPS and security appliances for mail and web.
    • Serve as primary point person to 3rd party security partners and auditors.
    • Identify tasks and controls necessary to remediate identified risks and vulnerabilities.
    • Develop and drive security awareness training and education for all TOA employees and Physicians
    • Proactively identify, document and assess information security vulnerabilities and risks in the information technology and computing user environment.
    • Responsible for Phishing awareness training using KnowB4 and communication of results on an on-going basis.
    • Assist in the development of appropriate information security policies, standards, procedures, checklists and guidelines using generally-recognized security concepts tailored to meet the requirements of TOA.
    • Ongoing configuring, testing, troubleshooting on platforms like Cisco PIX, ASA, Sonicwall NSA/SRA and Radius.
    • Responsible for the development and institutionalizing of an incident response plan.

     

    Qualifications

    • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
    • Proficient hands-on experience and of fundamental networking concepts and protocols such as: VLAN, EIGRP, OSPF, IP subnetting and routing.
    • Experience leveraging Sonicwall NSA/SRA logs to protect edge of the network
    • Experience with configuration of Trend Micro to protect end user and server grade equipment
    • Highly proficient with DDOS and traffic mitigation techniques
    • Strong communication skills
    • Familiarity with project management skills such as scoping and estimation
    • Associates degree preferred, equivalent 5+ years’ experience accepted
    • Experience with Cisco, Sonicwall and network protocols is a must
    • Ability to identify and document specific security issues and propose resolution options
    • Understanding of Security Methodologies
    • Basic knowledge of malicious code (worms, viruses, spyware, ransomware, etc.)
    • Must be capable of lifting 40 pounds
    • Must be willing to work after hours and weekends as necessary to minimize disruption to the business
    • Minimal local travel may be required
