  • Overview



    Our TOA Cast Technician plays an important role in the overall care and services to our patients throughout the area. Primarily, you will be fitting and applying casts and orthopedic appliances and removing casts and splints. You will provide patient instructions concerning cast care and the use of orthopedic appliances. Ours is a fast-paced environment that provides the right candidate excellent opportunities to help TOA's patients and build a career with the largest orthopaedic practice in Middle Tennessee.    



    Responsibilities will include:

    •      Applies, adjusts, and removes fiberglass/plaster casts and/or splints as directed by a physician or physician assistant
    •  Inspects and adjusts bandages and equipment
    •  Instructs patients on cast/splint care
    •  Maintains, cleans, packages, and sterilizes surgical instruments used in the office
    •  Assists with administering and applying durable medical equipment when needed
    •  Cleans and stocks cast and procedure rooms




    Educational Requirements:  High school diploma required, college education or trade school preferred

    •     Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within an orthopedic office
    • Casting experience is preferred 
    • Minimum basic knowledge of anatomy is needed
    •     Exceptional customer service and patient focus.
