This full-time position will be responsible for interfacing and developing or enhancing referral relationships with current and potential referral sources including, but not limited to: physicians, referral staff, other referral influencers, emergency rooms, current patients, hospital physician liaison staff, hospital marketing staff, and current patients. Internally (approx. 10% of time), this individual will develop methodologies to improve the patient experience so as to effectively leverage this important referral source. Such methodologies may be based on feedback obtained from current patients or referring physician staff regarding the TOA treatment experience. Externally (approx. 90% of time), this position will function as a liaison between TOA physicians and service lines and current and potential referral sources – predominately physicians and their referral decision makers. In making contact with external referral sources, much attention will be paid to: listening to constructive or critical feedback; assessing needs (for specific educational materials, educational presentations, or for help with a particular type of injury or patient group); educating referral sources about TOA specialty services (i.e., Hand Surgery, Joint Replacement, etc.), new TOA physicians, new offices, or technological developments; providing general information about TOA and its physicians and services; and providing alternative contact information to referral sources in the event conventional referral pathways do not work.
